  1. Hooray!
    I love MetalSlug!!

    (boohoo! I don't have a PS2)

  2. by the time its ready for release in the west it'll probably be on wii (thinks elderly being too optimistic to be accurate or indeed factual)
(takes off shoes and socks, manipulates his digits)

    toes crossed

(sharp pain rises across elderly feet...)

    ouch cramp! cramp!

  3. A 3d version? That sounds quite interesting.

I plan on picking up the Wii version of Metal Slug as well.

    Cramps, yeah they suck.

  4. hi Gamer c, at the rate i'm pencilling in must play games, im going to need some serious time off to catch up....its a predicament...

    ReplyDelete
  5. And some money will come in handy too...

    ReplyDelete
  6. that shouldn't be too much of a problem, by the time i get round to playing them they should hopefully be displayed in all their bargain bin glory.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Or even better, enter the abandonware area... Freebies!

    ReplyDelete
  8. (looks at must play tome) highly probable notion!

    ReplyDelete
  9. I have the same predicament as well elder. I have a ton of games I need to complete yet I still go out and by $20 games once and while.

I want to beat a majority of my games before I embark on buying a Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii but that may not happen.

  10. An urban gnomes time is never enough... guess I'll have to migrate...

(gnomes -just like coconuts- migrate at the exact moment when there beards reach their knees)

    ReplyDelete
  11. Well Gnome, alot will depend on your migration path (holds scissors behind back)

Gamer C, it does present a problem, completing all the games i want to play, in such a short period..

For example I haven't completed project Zero (fatal frame) i should go and buy 2 and 3, but represive mental programming suggests i shouldn't purchase 2 and 3 till i finish the first one........ergo i lose out.

I purchased God of war, when it dropped in price, i've probably only played about 8 hrs...so it's sitting there bugging the life out of me while i amble through good and evil, with an occasional catch up stab at oblivion

if this keeps up i'm going to need counselling

    ReplyDelete
  12. You could always migrate you know...

Oh, and please, be a nice Mr. Elderly and put down those scisors. Ah, that's better. Now for the drinks...

    ReplyDelete
  13. no the scissors stay, just in case your thinking of an migration route to the east........ i will however temporarily put them away for drinkies, it was begining to resemble an alcohol rehabiliation centre in here.......

(mentally takes note of gnomes beard length and the juxtapositioning of gnomes knees)

    ReplyDelete
  14. OK... The scissors stay. The drinks too. Fine with me...

I wonder... where in the east would it be a nice place? Istanbul perhaps? Shanghai? Tokyo?

Nope.. No Japan, that's for sure (for now)

    ReplyDelete
  15. (figures the gap between gnomes beard and his knees is long enough to humour him about moving east, checks broadband availability in Japan, download times, fearful that a gnomes move to Japan would disrupt the posting on gnomeslair, elderly uses plan b)

Japan looks good, ireland though has cherry trees too........and a suitably large asian community........

    ReplyDelete
  16. Ireland though is unfortunately on in the West, thus totally unsuitable for an eastward migration.

A westward migration is a whole different discourse.

    Cherry trees you say? interesting...

    ReplyDelete
  17. no no simply a change of direction, a different way of looking at things.

    (thinks really hard......)

actually you can reach Ireland if you travel east......

    long enough......

    (thinks really really hard.........)

there acres and acres of green grass, mountains, oak tress and such for caninja to run around too! off his leash.........

and am.........there are no greek people here.......well you wouldn't meet them very often.....

    no greek police!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Not bad... I've actually always thought of Ireland as a great place. People have been telling me the Irish (and their country) are better than the Scots (and their country), which is quite interesting, as I consider Scotland as one of the finest places on earth.

    ReplyDelete
  19. you mean .....that theres a good chance that when your beard reaches your knees.....you would consider an alternative migration route......

thank you, you don't know what this means to me and my people........

on a side note....we (irish) share a particularily close affinity with the scottish.......based on our historic experience with english authority

    ReplyDelete
  20. I guess I'll ride to Ireland. That'll make quite an impression...

Oh and don't think we haven't tasted british authority here... The civil war wasn't a greek matter only. The British and Americans had fun bombing the workers quarters of Athens, right after the liberation from the Nazis... Then they went on to impose an almost dictatorial regime that lasted till '74.

The first nappalm was dropped here...

    ReplyDelete
  21. sweet jeez, napalm! i never knew that

    why attack the workers quarter?

as for british authority, you haven't missed anything.........

    ReplyDelete
  22. Well, in the fist place they were workers. Who also had guns, and weren't afraid to use them. And there were lots of them. Apparently they weren't exceddingly fond of English-Americans and Kings of any sorts either...

    ReplyDelete
  23. so they bombed them.....lovely....
seems to be a perennial response to opposition......nothing changes....

    ReplyDelete
  24. Of course.. History has a marvelous way of repeating itself... Even though people tend to forget it...

    ReplyDelete
  25. or indeed choose to ignore it......."the wind the rocks the barley" is a new film released here in Ireland depicting the brutality of the "black and tans" a special force of english soldiers recruited from english prisons......people were shocked yet their parents/grandparents experienced it first hand and never talked about it......

    ReplyDelete
  26. Now, this is something I just have to see...

People are shocked, just because they can't imagine how brutal and corrupt the ruling class(es)/states can be... They 're simply to good and noble to even think of such atrocities, let alone believe that others are capable of commiting them...

    ReplyDelete
  27. profound and true....like Blairs parlour etiquette just after the blitz on Bagdad and the murder of god knows how many innocents....stomach churning coldness

    ReplyDelete
  28. Couldn't agree more... Blair, a socialist.. Pah!

    Scumm...

    ReplyDelete
  29. in the fashion of Stalin.......
    undoubtedly...

    ReplyDelete
  30. Are there goulags in the UK?

    Wow, never knew this...

    ReplyDelete
  31. here they called them H blocks, though the prisoners were the most part guilty of atrocity, a significant number were purely political....

    ReplyDelete
  32. Disturbing, but unfortunately not shocking.

    (Israel invaded Lebanon... Bloody fascists)

Back to subject. Here we call them "white-cells" a la Germany. And we call political prisoners terrorists, but that's a word-wide tactic after all. Quite ancient too.

    ReplyDelete
  33. pretty sure they'd have checked with mr. bush first....., which probably means Bush is going to drag his heels for the couple of months it'll take them to withdraw, if at all.

And just as disturbing their latest assault on the Gaza strip left some "terrorist" children dead.

    ReplyDelete
  34. And half a terrorist goverment in jail, terrosrist bridges destroyed, terrorist homes crashed, and a nice big anti-terror smile on Bush's face.

Who needs those terrorists states and peoples after all? Bloody explode-in- your-face kids. Muslim / commie scum. I say nuke them...

Besides the good ol' US of A have quite a bit of nuking experience.

    ReplyDelete
  35. indeed that would solve the terrorist problem rather quickly, cant for the life of me think why they haven't used it, it certainly wouldn't offend their morality....maybe it would contaminate the oil or perhaps like a cat they get a certain enjoyment in torturing their prey first.

    ReplyDelete
  36. A bit of both as it seems.
Oil and torturing Arabs seem to be deeply embed in the western soul.

    ReplyDelete
  37. the pope has been strangely quiet as well, he mustn't get cable, or maybe he's had his larynx removed......surely he wouldn't condone the murder of little children....unless of course he dosen't like children......

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yes... apparently he couldn't care less. It's not that he condones murder, it's just that whenever he thinks of the Crusades a smile brightens up his (not too) old face...

    ReplyDelete
  39. boy! he's got a long memory..... so thats what special power you get when your infallable......

    ReplyDelete
  40. And you're infallable. That's two powers... WOW! The pope must be at least a 18th level priest!

    ReplyDelete
  41. at least......boy thats scary.... jeez I wonder if he's got more......

Theres that whole charisma thing going on with his cardinals and bishops, and all those people in the vatican square....thats thr33 (yikes!) powers.....

    ReplyDelete
  42. (there was a brilliant comment supposed to be here but apparently i didn't manage to post it last time round)

4 actually. He can also "Communicate with Deities"

    ReplyDelete
  43. and he can say mass....... an turn water into wine.....

now he's got to be a high level mage.....with a wing in cleric......and high priest

    ReplyDelete
  44. what! i could be right!

(sits down, shocked with the fact he might have had an original idea that was right)

    my mum would be proud.....

    ReplyDelete
  45. she should...

    :)

    ReplyDelete
  46. all those years when she said that i was special.....she was right.....

thats why she sent me to a special school...

how do mums know things like that....

    ReplyDelete
  47. ROFL

    (again)

Yep.. it's an instict me thinks...

    ReplyDelete
  48. mums are cool really, when you get to a certain age.......

or maybe it's when they stop wiping your face clean with their spit on a hankie.....

    ReplyDelete
  49. Irish tradition sounds so very interesting....

    :)

    ReplyDelete
  50. indeed mum spit has antiseptic properties, ask your mum she'll explain

(amazed that gnome never experienced the phenonmenon)
