The Game
Reflecting the stylized action of the Marvel comic series and Sony Pictures' upcoming film, Ghost Rider offers a unique combination of high impact combat and motorcycle action. Johnny Blaze is Ghost Rider-destined to haunt America's highways, visiting his righteous wrath upon the souls of the wicked and the damned. The high-octane storyline takes Ghost Rider to a large variety of scenes and locations while facing off against familiar faces from both the Marvel comic universe and Sony Pictures' movie.

Features:

Authentic Comic Storyline - Famed comic writers Garth Ennis and Jimmy Palmiotti penned the game's storyline which picks up where the movie leaves off.

Vengeful Combat - Fast paced, combo-based combat against multiple enemies using Ghost Rider's trademark hellfire chain and hellfire shotgun.

Adrenaline Fuelled Motorbike Action - Ride the terrifying Hell Cycle, swing your chain at enemies and use the bike's powers: ride on water, boost over jumps, power down under obstacles.

So far the website suggests a ps2 and gameboy advance release, presumably to coincide with the movie release.

The Comic
Ghost Rider is the name of several fictional, supernatural anti-heroes in the Marvel Comics universe. Marvel had previously used the name for a Western character whose name was later changed to Night Rider and subsequently to Phantom Rider.

The first supernatural Ghost Rider is stunt motorcyclist Johnny Blaze, who, in order to save the life of his mentor, agreed to give his soul to Satan (later revealed to be Mephisto). Instead his soul was bonded with the entity called Zarathos. When emitting Zarathos’ powers, Blaze's head became a flaming skull and he wielded a fiery motorcycle and trademark blasts of hellfire from his skeletal hands. He starred in an eponymous series from 1973-1983.

Based on the Marvel comic and motion picture starring Nick Cage, the game is set for US release on February 13th. Ghost Rider features both combo action, as well as Hell Cycle high-speed racing.

Ghost Rider (2007) Movie

Despite rustling up $52 million and leading the box office field on it's debut, the film has only managed a grade of 35% from 17 reviews on Metacritic.

Time therefore to celebrate the wonder of hype, with some of the artwork that made the comic such a screaming success.

Ghost Rider Game Review (ps2) Crap!

Hello Seamus the Leprechaun here!!! how are ye? well the post title says it all, another Movie licensed game heading at full throttle to the bargain bin. How bad?

50% from 9 reviews on Metacritic.com with IGN saying

"The combat is repetitive and clunky, the driving is horrid, and the plot is completely useless"

and Gamespot

"Ghost Rider steals liberally from several major action games, yet somehow avoids stealing the parts that made those games fun."
