The Eye of Judgment is a turn-based card battle video game for the PlayStation 3, played out with real cards and the use of the next-gen EyeToy camera.
Through the use of a 3' x 3' board and encrypted trading cards players conquer the field by selecting a card and placing the special cards in front of the EyeToy camera for their respective character to come to life and battle. Players take turns to place cards as they jostle for control of the board, the winner is the first player to capture five of the nine squares. The Eye of Judgment presents the player with more than 30 cards, as well as unique online and offline gameplay.
Expansion packs are planned for the game, with Set 2 and Set 3 to be released on PlayStation Network on February 2008 and June 2008, respectively.
The original release package of Eye of Judgment comes bundled with everything needed to get started:
the Eye of Judgment,
the Eyetoy camera,
the Eye of Judgment camera stand,
a 3x3 playmat,
one starter deck of 30 cards
and a booster pack (5 random additional cards.)

Oh Dear God. Another card battle game. I might have more fun playing Lair than this.
Seems pretty gimmicky to me :(
First we can't let our kids play card games in school. then we watch card games on TV (Take off those silly shades, it's being playing INDOORS!, we have cartoon shows about card games. And now we have a card game for one of the most power consoles to date in this cycle of consoles.
...
a card game.
Is it just me or is this as silly as a blank, white canvas is considered art and is worth 2.2 million dollars...
Indeed Funnyman one would imagine more fun with Lair
I would concur Roys gimmicky and a neat method of getting the eyetoy in peoples homes,
silly as a blank white canvas, for a far more approachable $69
one must admit though it is an early iteration of an innovation thats got potential, now if they could get the 3d images on the 3x3 card table rather than the screen they may just have something.
For those of you who didn't experience the eye toy on PS2, it's a damn fine peripheral. I would imagine that this game is for very rich kids with very indulgent parents, but it seems to me to be something of a total gaming package. Then again the game might be crap... I'm stuck here in RE:DS limbo (again!), so right now ANY game looks good...
I expected something like this from the Wii but not the PS 3.
I know it's just a glorified CCG with simplified rules, but really, look at those cards come to life...
(looks)
(loads Etherlords)
Ahhh.... much better! Excellent post Elderly dear!
This will sell about 2 copies because of the release of the Orange Box and Jericho.
(looks into limbo....) well i see your problem FK.. dont' worry we'll get you out.... are you all right for food and water?
(takes wii stirring spoon from funnyman....) I just washed that... here you can have this.... (hands Funnyman limbo rope.....)
me happy you happy Gnome... (hands gnome part of the rescue FK from Limbo rope....)
bad timing one must admit funnyman...
now has everyone gotten hold of the limbo rope... (shouts into limbo....)
FK grab the rope, we're going to pull...... one, two, three....
PULL!
PUUULLLLLLLLLLL!!!
Think we're doing anything here Elderly?
(looks into hole....) erm.... i think we have achieved something alright.... but perhaps not the outcome we expected....
I think... (swallows...)
I think we hanged FK
Feeeck... Anyway, we could go for the old reanimation trick, couldn't we?
brilliant... i'll get the robes and the candles.... we'll get it right this time..... (elderly rushs out of the room, leaving Gnome to hang out with FK....)
Card games on consoles ain't really my cup of tea. Card games are better played IRL.
good point... once you tire of the animations, a live card game would hold far more replay value..
