25 to life (xbox, ps2) sent to the electric chair

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, based on 5 independent reviews Metacritic have an overall score of 45/100 for this attempt by Avalanche Software and publishers Eidos Interactive. Of course 5 reviews is no confirmation we have a contender for dud of the year*. I'll keep on checking as more reviews come in and amend this post as necessary. Hopefully!

Cited by IGN as the game developers, Avalanche Software (who make no reference to the game on their website) have a blurb on their what's new section:

"We are currently working on game we cannot tell you about"

Might I suggest we're probably better of not knowing.

review summary:
Online portion isn't bad
lifeless generic shooter
just awful
single player forgettable, multiplayer slightly better
rolls back advancements to the psone level

* Metacritic's Dud of the year 2005 went to Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory(39/100).
