Angela Aki Vs. Faye Wong

Ahead of the US release of Finaly Fantasy XII, the elderly alone and unmedicated decides wouldn't it be cool to have a battle of the Final Fantasy singers. Yes it's amazing what thoughts come to you in the wee small hours, but what's the old fool on about now?.

Japanese singer Angela Aki sings the Vocal Theme to FFXII called "Kiss Me Goodbye" to be heard in all it's glory on the following elderly post (following elderly post).

Back in 1999 Chinese singer Kaye Wong sang the Vocal Theme to FFVIII called "Eyes on Me", which sold over 400,000 copies and was the best selling videogame music single until Utada Hikaru released "Hikari" for Kingdom Hearts.

Angela Aki has also sung her version of "Eyes on Me" at the premiere PLAY! A video Game Symphony concert in Chicago on May 27, 2006.

And Volia!! your chance to join the raging debate amongst all .....erm!! all 3 fans who swear that Angela Aki's version is the best.

And perhaps the last time we'll have unrestricted access to such video gems following a Japanese entertainment group's recent request to YouTube to pull nearly 30,000 copyrighted video clips.

Faye Wong is the most popular singer in Chinese society. Her albums used to breaking the records.

When I heard Eyes on Me at glance, I thought she was singing in CHINESE! I didn't understand until I realized she was singing in English.

Anyway, Eyes on Me is one of best songs of video games.

(sends gnome off to the shops for biscuits... encouraging him to take his time....)

Indeed it is a most beautiful song... Kunoichi Terminator, Faye Wong gets my vote for the best version...

gnome hasn't returned, borat is missing.... and kunoichi terminator has disappeared into the shadows....

Oh if only I could watch the videos! My wife and I danced to Faye Wong's "Eyes on Me" so I can't really compare or decide which is the best.

Her version shall always be on top with me.

I prefer Faye's version, because it's a more steady flow in the song.
But Angela's english is better. =P

Hi late poster, thanks for commenting... having opted for Faye initially, Angela has grown on me.. now on mature reflection, both, as you've pointed out both have merit... if I was posting this again i'd remove the versus...
