I don't know about all of you but I would be hard pressed to see this movie on Xmas day. It just doesn't fit the festive spirit. I still want to see it though, I'm just not that bloodthirsty.

...

what? I'm not, really.

I am not sure what your talking about thetimerunner. Christmas is about giving. Those Predators gave a bunch of presents to those Aliens.

Besides, I see nothing particularly festive in Xmas either. Just a bunch of catatonically silly shoppers. Anyway. Seems like a decent film to watch drunk on TV. Not cinema.

Oh, and Elderly dear, have you played any of the original AvP PC games?

...there might be snow in the film Timerunner? you haven't considered that... and Funnyman rasies a very strong argument in favour... the film is getting more seasonal by the minute..

aye i normally spend Christmas, ignoring that it's Christmas.. never played the AvP games.. they were strategy based some of them?

but do I do remember an FPS alien game but can't for the life of me remember what console.....

I'm with Timerunner, I love Christmas and would much rather be watching "Scrooge" and weeping into my mince pie... However, as a post saesonal watch in that crappy mid-January period, I would definitely enjoy watching it whilst drunk. In fact in my current self-enforced sobriety I would be happy watching two flies crawling over a turd, if I could do it drunk... But that's another story...

I don't care if it's Christmas or not, I definitely want to watch this movie!

Just saw the first AVP yesterday for the 2nd time and it was a pretty good movie. I specially liked the predator/human alliance in the end.

It had a lot of flaws, though, specially when it come to being faithful to the source material (for example, Predators are lonely hunters and they hate cold, so it would be unlikely to see a group of 3 Predators in the snow).

I hope the new movie to be better about this.

As for the Predalien, I think it was already confirmed, although I still don't know it it's the one we saw in the original AVP or an unrelated one.

Oh, and yes, I've played the AVP games. :D

Oh and they were all FPSs... Very atmospheric too. Used to scream in girly tones... How do you pull the Xmas ignoring trick Elderly?

A for the 1st AvP movie, well Nebacha I'll have to disagree with you... "Withnail & I" on the other hand. What a film, huh?

Ah yes FK Self enforced sobriety, commendable, provided of course it's got a logical conclusion.

Well Nebachadnezzar you've just blown my seasonal movie theme.. so they'll be no predator choir, singing carols in the snow... oh well fingies crossed on the predalien...

The christmas ignoring trick? involves , refusing to buy a xmas tree, leaving my abode bare of seasonal reminders and avoiding turkey, ham, minced pies and xmas cake. Now if i could just get rid of my xbmas pressi list....

I'm all for the movie, and I like the idea of a jaunary release given what we can expect for movies. It's just the feeling of the theme is all. It's almost as off the Xmas cheer than that horror movie "Black Xmas". That movie made me swear off gingerbread cookies till this day.

Aha! My tactics exactly, but that doesn't scare 'em Xmas lovers away...

now Timerunner it's certainly could not be described as a perfect movie to view at Christmas.... plus it would remind me of my former mother in law could have played any of the alien parts with ease...

...Gnome Christmas visitors are perhaps one of the best reasons to keep a banned dog breed....

..there more of a chance if you keep a bulldog or rottweiller, Xmas visitors may decide to overlook social calls to your house....
