Dragon's Dogma, Trailer, Wallpaper and Popcorn

Wallpaper 1920x1200, more on Forbidden Forest

An action RPG close to release by Capcom for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, due May 22nd US, May 24 Japan, and May 25th 2012 for Eu.

An open world fantasy environment which has drawn comparisons to Capcom's own Monster Hunter series as well as The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Throw in the hack and slash and survival horror elements and players can look forward to up to 30 hours of a main quest and an additional 70 hours of side quests.

During a raid on the fishing village of Casadeis, a dragon approaches you, and as dragons do,  informs you that you are the “chosen one”. It then proceeds to tear out your heart.....

I'll leave the rest for a decent preview, meanwhile sit back, help yourself to the free popcorn and enjoy.
Official Website

Alf The Helper: Does it really tear out your heart?
Elderly: Yes it does
Alf the Helper: But then you'd be dead and the game would be over.
Elderly: Yes I agree it would be a very short game indeed.
Alf The Helper: So it's a flashback thingy!! the heart tearing out bit..
Elderly: No you really get your heart torn out at the start of the game
Alf The Helper: But then you'd..... you've got two hearts!!!?
Elderly: No you've only got one heart
Alf The Helper: You get a transplant...
Elderly: No
Alf The Helper: .....?....It's a fake heart!? to fool the dragon??
Elderly: No
Alf The Helper: ....already I don't like this game...
Elderly: Patience Alf, wait for the preview

Argh ANOTHER game I'm going to have to buy!! Is it an RPG or a hack 'em up? Either way it's looking good. Is that a Darth Sidious cameo in the trailer too, about 1:07 in?

Right, can't stop, I'm off to google what happens when a dragon claws your heart out... You can never be too prepared!

A hack em up

and

an RPG

and a survival horror....

And your quite correct, although I don't think they intended it, that is indeed the spitting image of erm the Darth Sidious...

unless of course I've missed something... well if their putting mr.Sideous in there, they better include an Angelina Jolie lookalike...

(whispers)

Don't let Alf know, but apparently your miraclously saved and revived as an "Enlightened One"..

They're my three favourite gaming genres! All wrapped up in one game! PLUS bonus Star Wars characters and Angelina Jolie! Quite possibly going to be one the greatest games ever to be released on this evidence.

(frantically obliterates piggy bank in the hope of finding £40)

Ah, I only have £2.86... When's it out? May 25th? 25 days of saving and frugality... GO!

(whispers) thanks for the heads-up about the heart business... I've never been miraculously saved before. Something to look forward to!

Hiya Bickle! :)

Now that's intriguing, me and Elderly were just taking about hearts, just a few hours ago!

So your thinking of setting up a new business?

Give me a second, I'll get us some larger...

(heads off to the beer fridge..)

Oh oh!...

(pushes Alf inside the fridge, shuts and locks the door)

Phew! That was close!

I could murder a beer right about...now...

:(

(Runs to catch up in the savings race...)

And thus from miscommunication and desire are the stuff of great gaming rumours born....

Sigh!

Erm... is Alf going to be ok in there...?

The knocking seems to have stopped...

Anyway, I brought some ale which is just great at room temp! Cheers!

Unknown said...

...well to be honest I am a little worried...

..he's stopped knocking either because his unconscious and dying from hypothermia or knowing him he's after polishing off my beer supply, and is fast asleep....

...but it would be equally wrong of me to ignore such a lovely treat as room temperature ale, always taste best....

we'll check up on Alf later :P

Hiya Deitix! :)

With a library of unfinished RPGs, I'm fast realising that this may be the way of the rpg gamer, starting a title and been constantly tempted into a new fantasy world as soon as a new title arrives....

...sigh!
