300 the movie

300 Teaser Trailer - video powered by Metacafe

Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, "300" is a retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite against their Persian enemy, drawing a line in the sand for democracy. The film brings Miller's (Sin City) acclaimed graphic novel to life by combining live action with virtual backgrounds that capture his distinct vision of this ancient historic tale.

I have seen the movie and it was really good, but you can tell that it is totally graphic animation. Especially when the Spartans are thrusting (yes, I said thrusting) their swords through the Immortals (asian army) and the Persians. I believe that the only thing the actors had was a handle for the swords. Also, the sheer fact of hundreds of nearly naked men made it impossible to pay attention to the characters. The pain on the face of the extras was hilarious, becuase all of them were flexing their abs the entire movie. No character moved for the fear of accidently throwing "the flex" off. It was a good movie though, it is easy to see passed the mistakes and glitches.

nice overview Desiree, i've gotten a mixed reaction from friends.. but this film has captivated me since i first heard about it.... though im glad, glitches aside it's got some depth.....

flexing you say.. how distracting....
