Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria (ps2) Reviews

Recently released for the European market, sequel to the original Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, Silmeria is a 30 hour 2D feast for the senses with plenty of replay value, collecting a score of 84% from 39 reviews on Metacritic.com, another classic hits the Ps2.

Reviews Summary
Short by epic RPG standards, but it also makes the game that much more replayable
A difficult and lengthy game built for loyal and determined role-playing adventurers.
Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria is a breath of fresh air in a world of play-alike RPGs
Some one of the most technically and aesthetically pleasing visuals we've seen thus far
Not everyone's going to love the transplanted platform puzzler elements, and RPG purists might be turned off by the wafer-thin town exploration
One of the best games in the PS2 library
If you can get past the stiff difficulty, it has all the elements of a great RPG with its intriguing storyline, compelling combat and deep game mechanics
To put it simply, it's gorgeous in every respect, even though it's only in 2D.

Two Worlds Reviews (xbox 360)

The hype was breath taking, "Oblivion on Steroids", the reality far less than expected. With a score of 49% from 14 reviews on Metacritic.com

Reviews Summary
There's a lot to Two Worlds that will take you an eternity to complete.
It's rare that a game releases that is so shockingly incompetent.
Fans of old-school PC games such as Diablo will find plenty to entertain them
This game doesn't feel rushed. It feels like it was done by amateurs AND rushed.
Epic scale and depth of content make Two Worlds worthwhile.
It's possible to get used to the random hardships and persevere, so it's not a complete failure.
Those who have been waiting for a quality role-playing will be sorely disappointed

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (Wii) Reviews

The tenth game in the Metroid series and the third and final of the main installments in the Metroid Prime trilogy, excluding two spin-off titles. The game takes place six months after the events of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and introduces a new control system based on the Wii Remote and Nunchuk.

scoring 91% from 16 reviews on Metacritic.com

Reviews Summary
Stunning visuals and immersive gameplay of the finale to the Prime series proves that the Wii is ready for the mainstream gamer
Even with a low difficulty level, lackluster story and flawed unlockables, Metroid Prime 3 is certainly a must-play for Wii owners
The original "Metroid Prime" is one of the highest-rated games in existence, but Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is easily superior
On the whole, Corruption takes advantage of the Wii's biggest strength (with its unique controls), and minimizes its greatest weakness (through astounding art direction)
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is by far one of the most enjoyable games to grace the Nintendo Wii to date.
The title delivers everything a Metroid fan could hope for, including spectacular environmental puzzles, epic boss fights and intense combat, all wrapped up in a package that spans multiple worlds and is filled with re-traversal exploration

Lair Review (Ps3)

scoring 58% from 10 reviews on Metacritic.com

Reviews summary
Lair may well be the single most powerful experience that a man can share with his $5,000 home theatre system. (???)
Massive amounts of enemies will make the game a slideshow and will ultimately lead to you breaking something.
Many fans will be disappointed thanks to all of the hype that's built up around the game
Complaints about the control scheme will be warranted
The ultimate example of how gameplay suffers when all the work goes into making everything look pretty. There is nothing fun about it.
Falls well short of anything you should be playing.
Repetitive missions, cheesy voice acting and choppy animation
