Halo Wars Preview

Yes it's Halo as a Real Time Strategy game, “Halo Wars” is the next big real-time strategy game from Ensemble Studios, creators of Age of Empires. Designed exclusively for the Xbox 360, “Halo Wars” allows you to take charge of the human UNSC armies and see the Halo universe from a totally new perspective. The action takes place before Halo during the UNSC’s first deadly encounters with the Covenant. Players will lead the crew of the UNSC’s “Spirit of Fire” from initial skirmishes to an all out war against the evil Covenant.

As to whether you can play as the convenant?
to be confirmed

As to when the game will be released?
to be confirmed

As to the perennial issues with RTS games and consoles?
the game "was created for the Xbox 360 from the ground up, which meant we didn't have to make compromises or shoe-horn in artifacts from a Windows PC game. We were able to take all the best aspects of RTS games, make them work perfectly on the Xbox 360, and exclude the rest."

hmmmmmmm! haven't i heard that before.... here
still I've got my arthritic fingers crossed

"As to whether you can play as the convent..."

Jeez! I was schooled by the Convent based 'Sisters Of Mercy' amd those motherfuckers couldn't have displayed less 'Sisterhood' or 'Mercy'! Frightening!

Yes I know the quote really should have read 'covenant' but please...
You guys don't know you were born...

I'm suprised you didn't touch on the "controversy" in reguards to the homebrew "Halogen" RTS game. It's interesting how this game suddenly became known and how very little realise that someone tried this just awhile ago.

As to Spartan Team Omega, if the storyline serves well, there were only 36 Spartans when the Covenant War started and they only fought in 3 to 5 man squads. The video seems to imply that there were full battalons of Spartans.

It just makes me wonder how many liberties they took with this game just so you can command a bunch of supersoliders.

Final thought: Will they follow the same train of thought with the story plot where even if the UNSC wins the ground engagement, will they Covenant in the end just glass the planet?

Indeed a most excellent concept Ross, and one which I hope is properly realised and not rushed....

(hides copy of "video gaming for bluffers" under the couch cushion........)

hmmm indeed Timerunner.. my thoughts....erm exactly!!, historical accuracy is of ..erm prime importance... takes away from the superhuman status Master Chief if you ask me....

of course I had heard of the halogen light bulb "controversy"

(scratches head attempting not to look totally lost),

but I've chosen to avoid the issue due to.....

(looks at the ceiling....)

time constraints... which im sure you'll be familiar with....

time constraints... timerunner...

lol!... no? ? ?

okay not funny! cough!!

tea anyone.... maybe we could discuss the halogen light bulb controversy....
