Devil May Cry3 update set for US not Europe Booo!

Features of the Special Edition include an optional 20% increase in game speed, a new playable character, a "very hard" mode and a new boss character amongst other premium content. An update not to miss then for fans of the series.

Capcom it appears at present believe only Americans are worthy of an updated special edition of Devil May Cry3. I am hoping that this is not a complete embargo on a European release, and that it takes a little longer to produce a PAL version of the game. But there isn't a single mention of the update on Capcom's European site. So I'm not convinced. May I remind Capcom of the handsome profit they made following the release of Devil May Cry3 in Europe. And that any European review of Devil May Cry4 would of course include information on the missing Special Edition.

No PS3 announcement at CES 2006 Rumour??

And what's all this about Sony?
From TG Daily thru Kotaku, a spokesperson for Sony has announced that their will be no new announcements about the PS3 amongst the planned annoucements it had announced earlier.
If you catch my drift.

The press had speculated that Sony would release details of their console at the Las Vegas Show, thereby taking some of the wind out of the Microsoft Sail. Sony PR had told them they had a number of announcements to make at the show and so it was hoped there would be some news about the planned launch of the PS3. But according to TG Daily, based on an comment straight from a Sony horses mouth, we may have got it all horribly wrong .

You are Empty (PC) what! no console release?

You can tell by the photos that this is something special. The interview (and video) on the following website (read the english translation in the website's sidebar) confirm that at present it's only set for a PC release.

Yes I know I'm a sucker for hype but with comments like "Silent Hill like exploration" and "Painkiller mass carnage", would it spoil some elemental plan if this got a console release. Please someone, anyone.

IGN have covered it here and included 56 images and this link brings you to the official website in Russian and English. And you can see I'm really begging here. You are Empty Set for release in Q4 2006. And to a console near you, if there is a console deity .

Tomb Raider: Legend Lara's back!!! sometime

This would be Tomb Raider 7 (if we count the last bomb they dropped) and the peoples on Gamespot have been lucky enough to get a quick hands on of two levels, described in following Preview on Gamespot.

A Spring release date is backed up by the latest press release issued by Eidos suggesting you check the official Website from April on. So I checked it straight away, nice, with it's main feature a fully rotating 3d model of Lara, but annoyingly you have to register to see it, so I didn't.

So where are the trillion screenshots and the squillion videos? well there are surprisingly very few. IGN have an itsy bitsy 2.8mb vid for non registered visitors, but no images. To cut it short the definitive collection of anything you ever needed to know (at the moment) about the forthcoming Tomb Raider is to be found on tombraiderchonicles.com.

I'll leave you with the following from Chip Blundell, Vice President of brand marketing at Eidos.

"In setting the stage for the Tomb Raider franchise moving forward, we took ourselves back to Lara's origins, asked ourselves the hard questions and challenged ourselves to think differently," said Chip Blundell, vice president of brand marketing, Eidos Inc. "Who is Lara Croft? What makes her tick? How is she relevant today?"

Okay the lack of coverage is bad enough but the moving forward, Lara tick bit, that's got me freaked.

"25 to Life" (ps2) have we got a new genre?

Billed as an "Urban Action third person shooter" this one ought to give the critics of violence in games a field day. You play the role of either a police detective or a drugs dealer (obviously the drug dealing theme is hip with Eidos Interactive. Not!!!). With Online gamplay for up to 16 players the best the anti-game lobby can hope for is that it handles like a dog. Rated M for mature, and due for release on 17th January.

Xbox360 Timeshift set for Spring 2006, Screenshots

From Atari and Saber Interactive, comes a first person shooter with a twist. Reverse in-game time to complete your objectives. Okay so I'm not won over either, however the CEO of Timeshift has been interviewed by gamespot, and seems quite excited about the FPS twist. Gamespot also have 28 screenshots and a mammoth official trailer (71mb) of high definition loveliness. The screenshots are looking quite tasty, if that's any indication of how good a game is going to be.
