Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Trailer, Preview

Promo Trailer

Successor to the 1990 title, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is the eight major release in the Tekken fighting game series.  Set for a staggered release on Ps3 and Xbox 360 between the 10th and 14th of September with a promised Wii U version due in December 2012.

The game will feature the largest Tekken roster ever with over 50 characters from the Tekken stable (see list on wikipedia and visit the official website for the full character bios), an all new Practice Mode called "Fight Lab", 3D support again a "first" for a fighting game, "Tekken Tunes" allowing for the selection of your own imported music tracks, "World Tekken Federation" an online stat board, and apparently the first stat tracking service created for a fighting game ever and then of course there's multiplayer for up to four players.

"Big Bikini Bundle" featuring over 150 swimsuits, will be available as a pre-order bonus in addition to the "Snoop Dogg Stage" a combat arena featuring Snoop Dogg on his throne "flanked by two fly honeys", and additional early access to DLC characters.

Alf The Helper: Bahh... gimmicks...fanservice..!!!
Elderly: Alf!! wash your mouth out!!!

Off course ye old Tekken modes are still there including the two versus two tag rules seen in the original Tekken Tag Tournament along with Arcade, Time Attack, Ghost Battle and Survival modes. Like the DOA series the combat arenas are tiered with destructible elements.

But in once sense I must agree with Alf, it appears all the extras have unfortunately overshadowed any realistic preview of precisely how good the gameplay is at present.  If your a Tekken fan you'll eat it up and have already most likely pre-ordered, for those new to the series wait for the strobe lights, crowd cheers and the standing ovations....if they ever come.

Alf The Helper: ahhh....no popcorn!!?
Elderly: No popcorn this time, but in sparing the expence of sending you on a cookery course, I've good news!
Alf The Helper: you have! good! and that is?  :)
Elderly: I'm waiting on the delivery of a popcorn augmentation device
Alf The Helper: Oh goody! a popcorn augmentation device.... what's that exactly?
Elderly: Wait and see little Alf, all will be revealed...
Alf The Helper: I'm so excited...
Elderly: You say that now.. I mean yes I know you are...

Rogue Warrior Preview

Based on a novel by Richard Marcinko and set in North Korea (talking about topical) the copy and paste bit happens next from Bethesda game info page.

"Rogue Warrior is a story-driven shooter that provides team-based tactical combat set in massive, contiguous levels using Unreal 3 streaming technology. Central to the game's single and multiplayer experience is the idea of a freeform battlefield, where players are given the freedom to choose how to complete a given objective, allowing for creativity and surprises, rather than heavily scripted events and tightly contained spaces traditionally used in this genre.

An advanced AI system allows NPCs to react and fight realistically, see and hear others, and respond as a team. Rogue Warrior offers a new take on the multiplayer experience, with 10 gameplay modes and a system whereby maps are created using tiles that are selected by each team. Rogue Warrior's tiling system allows users to experience over 200 maps in both day and nighttime settings. In addition, the campaign features solo and on-the-fly cooperative play for up to four players, where anyone can join or leave an existing campaign game at any time without having to go to menus or save progress.

In Rogue Warrior, you play Dick Marcinko, leader of an elite SEAL unit trapped behind enemy lines in North Korea on a covert mission to assess the threat posed by North Korea’s nuclear arsenal. When war breaks out between North and South Korea, you must try to lead your team back into South Korea while greatly outnumbered and with no support and limited resupply. Your journey will take you through a variety of never-before-seen environments inside of North Korea, including submarine pens, shipbreaker yards, prison camps, and more."

As spotted by Deitrix, set for US release on Xbox 360 in Fall 2007.
Not to be confused with Rogue Trooper

Rogue Warrior the Novel:

Rogue Warrior, by Richard Marcinko, is an account of how he founded two U.S. Navy counter-terrorist units, SEAL Team SIX and Red Cell. Commanding Red Cell, he was directed to use them to test the Navy's anti-terrorist capabilities. During the tests, Red Cell was able to infiltrate supposedly impenetrable, highly secured bases, nuclear submarines, ships and other "secure areas", including the Presidential plane Air Force One. In doing so he claims to have embarrassed several superior officers, whom he accuses of involvement in his subsequent conviction for misappropriation of funds and resources under his command.

Crysis First Look

Crysis is a new first person shooter being developed by Crytek, the makers of the award-winning Far Cry. Players take the role of Jake Dunn, a United States Delta Force Soldier sent into a mysterious island in the South China Sea to investigate an unidentified flying object that has crash in the area. Crysis is highly anticipated, as it will be one of the first Direct X 10 games. Some of the technology it will utilize include dynamic day/night cycle, fully interactive environments, sunrays and diffuse transmission, real time soft shadows, soft particles, interactive/destructible environments, volumetric clouds, and advanced shader technology.

Set in 2019 after a colossal asteroid crashes to Earth, Crysis begins amidst a tense military standoff between the North Korean and United States governments for control of the impact zone. Amid rising tensions, the asteroid suddenly bursts open revealing a massive alien ship, which begins freezing vast portions of the island and altering the global weather system. The invasion of Earth has begun. Crysis features an epic three-act story of alien invasion where players are able to customize their armor and weapons in real time to confront an ever-changing enemy and a harsh, dynamic environment.

Scheduled for a PC outing in Q1 2007 can a ps3 xbox360 version be far behind?

Dawn of Mana (Ps2)

Secret of Mana is a Squaresoft action/RPG, released in 1993 for the Super Nintendo. In Japan it was known as Seiken Densetsu 2, a golden classic of the 16-bit age.

Dawn of Mana, (Seiken Densetu 4 in Japan), is the first direct sequel in the series since the days of the SNES. A prequel, it promises to weave a tale of the origins of the Tree, Sword, and Goddess of Mana, as well as about how people came to learn about magic. The game is set for release this December in Japan and due in the US for Q1 of 2007. Luckily for us IGN have had a quick look.

God Hand First Look

Set for US release October 10th, already on store shelfs in Japan. Centuries ago, the world was in imminent doom (isn't it always) until a man defeated Angra and sealed away his godly powers into his own arms. People feared and revered this person who would become known as “God Hand”. Legend has it that anyone who acquired such hands would possess immense power that could turn them into a deity or demon. And this is where you come in, assuming the role of Gene as he tries to ward off the demons that seek to obtain the coveted appendage. Although he may have been granted the strength of the almighty, keeping these foes at bay won’t be easy as evil approaches from all directions for the ultimate showdown.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Preview

Set to debut alongside the Wii release on November 19, and specifically designed for the console to take advantage of the wii mote. When an evil darkness enshrouds the land of Hyrule, a young farm boy named Link must awaken the hero – and the animal – within. When Link travels to the Twilight Realm, he transforms into a wolf and must scour the land with the help of a mysterious girl named Midna. Besides his trusty sword and shield, Link will use his bow and arrows by aiming with the Wii Remote controller, fight while on horseback and use a wealth of other items, both new and old.

Link trivia:
Initially supposed to be left-handed in the Wii version of Twilight Princess, like he is in the GameCube version. However, noting that more users will swing the controller with the right hand, Nintendo made Link hold the sword in his right hand just for the Wii version.
