Xbox360 Arcade games Unplugged

For those xbox360 owners not connected to the internet (and probably not reading this post), fear not, Microsoft (the company that charge 20 cents for itsy bitsy pictures and who have left a sizeable portion of their xbox game catalog incompatible with the xbox360) are bringing

"Xbox Live Unplugged Volume 1" to your stores on Sept. 5, for $39.99 (US).

The pack includes 6 Xbox Live Arcade titles:
Geometry Wars Retro Evolved,
Wik: Fable of Souls,
Outpost Kaloki X,
Bejeweled 2 Deluxe,
Hardwood Backgammon,
and Texas Hold ‘em.

It also comes with a Free one month Xbox Live Gold subscription (which will be useful when you get connected) and 3 Xbox Live Arcade demos: UNO, Marble Blast Ultra, and Feeding Frenzy. Gamerscore blog has all the details.

Despite the surrealism of the whole thing (excellently brought forth through your divinely inspired eloquence)Wik, Bejeweled and Geometry Wars are worth the price...

Its interesting how they charge nearly $25 U.S. for Lumines Live though...

thank for such edifying words your gnomeship, indeed I beleive you are right these games are worth the entry price. It may mean though that we'll never see a free game on a magazine cover again, when retro games have a chance to make it back to the store shelf it's a good thing.

But if I was to worry, i'd launch a mini protest as to why nearly a year after it's launch I've only a handful of killer games that i want to play on a console that wouldn't look out of place (in terms of style and technology) on a space shuttle.

I should have upgraded my pc... I've got a next generation console and they're inviting me to play retro games on it.....

hi ross, jeez $25 is steep, seems they also struck a deal with warner bros for background videos (madonna was showcased at e3), or will the $25 dollars include some starter vids..... $25 is pushing it

Fair point oh fairest of the wise. A top console that mostly worth for its casual Live games can be hard... Still retro games can be much better than just another doom clone... As for loosing our precious magazine cover freebies, I wouldn't worry. Really. Then again there's always p*racy...

Oh, and let me know when we'll protest...

(gnome readies Malox, lemons, masks, pointy sticks, rocks, molotovs, rioting underwear)

Piracy!............ (two warner brothers representatives throw elderly to the floor, confiscate his cd and dvd collection for scientific analysis and check his pockets for spare change, two hours later elderly is released)

me an my big mouth!.... like the rioting underwear idea..... though i was thinking of a blogging campaign, my bones are too brittle for that stock of weaponry, you know fonts, sentences photoshopped images of 360 alongside pong

I thought we'd clash with corporate powers in a more literal way. Head on. Oldschool.

Still... photoshopping stuff can do wonders... I guess... Or not...
