I don't know what could be worse off for this game. One: that I already spent my hard earned cash on Growlanswer for my RPG fix. Or Two: that it's coming out over here at the same time Halo 3 is.

Looks lush! I'd buy that for a dollar!

Another PS 2 release? How much more money can Sony milk from this console? Great for Sony.

Coming out the same time as Halo 3 will most likely kybosh it... (checks dictionary....) erm knacker it.. no doubt Timerunner....

Indeed FK though the gameplay twist is a little off whack.. instant 1,000 levels increase...

Looks like our trusty ps2's will be plugged in for a long time to come Funnyman...

It's amazing just how many top games the PS2 is still getting. Hopefully the Wii will catch up...

Next-gen. Pah!

Seven years and counting is a long time for a console. I remember my first PS 2 game was Onimusha.

I don't like to be a graphics whore (and I'm usually not) but I just want to move on from PS2 now because the current gen consoles are far better looking.

It's always good to go back 'retro style' but new games for a console that's had its spot in the limelight just don't do it for me (unless they happen to be extremely good).

That is a good point Tom. The PS 2 is coming to an end. Even though I sold mine after I got a PS 3, I still have fond memories of it.

Still love my ps2 Gnome and have in the past abandoned my next-gen investment to play ps2 alone..

hi tom no doubt graphics on the ps2 are dated, however my aged brain is still fascinated with 3d, took out Primal the other night and found myself again enthralled by the gameplay and the outdated but lush graphics....

funnyman does the Ps3 boost the graphics in anyway for your ps2 games?

The Sports Satirist said...

I wish it did boost the graphics.

A friend has a PS3 and said he's seeing a slight graphics boost with the PS2 games. But that might owe more to a new tv and better component cables. :)

The same rule applies with the 360. When I played Halo 2, Star Wars, and Ninja Gaiden on my 360, I noticed they are the same on the original Xbox.

Ah wise old man you are elderly. Sure you don't live on a mountain top or smething? Elder sages go for these things you know...

The Sports Satirist said...

It is not only the next gen consoles. The PS 2 does not enhance PS 1 games either. Before I sold my PS 2, I played Metal Gear Solid and saw it was the same on the original PS 1 as it was on the PS 2.

Hi funnyman, Guttertalk, Gnome!! (waves hello..) mia for the last few days I apologise!!

Indeed the ps2 didnt' enhance the image quality for ps1games, though am i mistaken in thinking the loading times were quicker? (poor memory for these thing im afraid)

I was probably hoping for too much with the Ps3, xbox 360 playable xbox games were rarely boosted, though i do remember halo 2 got something of a graphic upgrade. Doom was worse on the 360 for a period of months before they reviewed their upgrade.

Strange you might mention the living on the mountain bit Gnome, does a hill count?

The Sports Satirist said...

Doom? The 360 and PC version looked the same to me.

gnome said...

Barely...

Unknown said...

the xbox version of doom 3 was smooth, the initial 360 fix was a travesty, but then they fixed it, psyuchologically I still think the xbox version was superior... never played the pc version being adverse to upgrading my pc since the end of the second world war.....

barely... huh! Gnome.... looks like a relocation is in order then.... arent' mountains really really could though

The Sports Satirist said...

I feel the same way about upgrading my PC. I will just wait until 2092 to play Crysis on my 360 or PS 3.

gnome said...

No, no, mountains are perfect now with global warming... Cosy I'd say.

Unknown said...

My local game store is operating a policy of no returns on pc games should your computer specs fail to play the game... so in my area the 360 version will carry less risk....

..cosy.. i dunno... but i'll take your word for it Gnome.... which means i can now sell all my anti-frostbite gear on ebay...

we can drink the proceeds... yipppeeeee!!!

The Sports Satirist said...

No returns? Not even store credit?

Unknown said...

nope not even store credit... done a great disservice to pc gamers... onus they say is on the customer to know their system, not the game store..

The Sports Satirist said...

That is why I prefer console games over PC games. I know absolutely nothing about computers. If I tried to install a graphics or sound card, my PC would explode because I don't know where the hell to install it.

Unknown said...

brother!!!

my mum never told me about you, but fate has finally brought us together.... :)

The Sports Satirist said...

I really hope Crysis comes to the 360 or PS 3 because I don't want my PC to explode.

Unknown said...

lol... same here, though it might give me the impetus to upgrade...

gnome said...

Uhm...

eh...

Ah!

:)

Unknown said...

...sorry Gnome... i beg your pardon.... (removes javelin from Gnomes leg....) you shoulda spoke out sooner... it's been hanging on that wall for years with not a budge.. heavy traffic i blame...

The Sports Satirist said...

The game developers seemed confident about there being no console release for Crysis, but I think they are waiting for the right moment for a console release. I think the game developers of FEAR said the same thing, but looked what transpired with that game. Two console ports to the 360 and PS 3.

Unknown said...

it would be a travesty if it dosen't see a release on next gen... Fear took a while for a port.. but my heavens was it worth it....
