Wii, Opera, and Gesture Browsing

Picture the scene, you, your wii (sorry!), your tv, integrated Opera browser and your wii remote. A click on the remote and your online browsing the net, a screen based keyboard get's you over the peripheral issue, a flick of the remote and your quickly moving from page to page. (i'm already dreading the comments on this post)

Okay I'm letting my imagination get the better of me here, but how far are we away from something akin to Tom Cruise in the Minority Report scene where his gestures are flicking thru tons of data?.

See what got the elderly all worked up, cubed3 opera interview

Pic reminds of a Tom Cruise film. It wasn't that bad actually. Anyway, very interesting idea.

On a average size tv this would not be a big deal to me... Even tho' I wouldnt mind being able to go straight to the net on the tv.

point taken, to get the same graphical quality for text etc. would probably mean a HD set, which on current budgets is not an option for alot of gamers
